María Paula is an international cooperation specialist with over seven years of experience supporting global and locally-led programs centered on climate justice. She gravitates toward work that connects climate action, sustainable development, and community-driven solutions, ensuring that those closest to the challenges are at the heart of decision-making.
At the Global Methane Hub (GMH), she works closely with the organization’s three sectoral programs (energy, waste and circular economy, and agriculture), providing high-level organizational, administrative, and logistical support to the program directors and their teams.
In recent years, she has worked as a program assistant with the Global Alliance for Green and Gender Action (GAGGA), where she coordinated the logistics of large global meetings focused on program evaluation, as well as the resilience and security of women human rights defenders. She also supported grant disbursements, relationships with grantees, and overall administrative processes.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs with a specialization in international cooperation management from the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica.
Beyond her professional work, she enjoys exploring new places, finds grounding in pottery, loves nature, and enjoys hiking with her dog, Brownie. She is based in San José, Costa Rica.
