Tainá Silvestre

Tainá is an animal scientist with over a decade of experience in enteric methane mitigation and livestock nutrition. 

At the Global Methane Hub (GMH), she oversees the Enteric Fermentation R&D Accelerator portfolio, supporting the development of the program and managing grants with international research partners to accelerate methane mitigation in the livestock sector.

Prior to joining GMH, she served as technical services manager for Kemin Industries across the Asia-Pacific region, providing technical support for ruminant nutrition and low carbon milk projects implementation.

She holds a Ph.D. in animal nutrition from the University of São Paulo, where she was a pioneer conducting dairy cattle respiration chamber experiments in Brazil. She also conducted research at Pennsylvania State University, evaluating novel nutritional strategies to reduce enteric methane emissions in dairy cows.

Tainá is based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
